Bob and Nikki met in 2005 when they were both undergraduate students at Benedictine University in Lisle. At the time, Bob was a football player and Nicole was a cheerleader for the Benedictine Eagles. They met when a mutual friend brought Nikki and some other girls to Bob's apartment, where he and a few of his fellow teammates proceeded to have a BB gun fight inside, scaring the girls half to death. Despite their initial meeting, they soon found themselves at the same parties and hanging out with the same people, and in turn, became good friends. Although most of the time they were dating other people in college, Bob and Nikki always felt there was a little more than friendship between them. Unfortunately, Bob and Nikki parted ways for a while, and these feelings did not come together until after their time at Benedictine when they met up on Halloween in 2010. After spending the evening partying, dancing, talking, and laughing together, they both realized just how much they'd missed each other for almost three years. After that, they were pretty much inseparable and the happiest they'd been in a long time. On December 23, 2010, Bob asked Nikki to be his girlfriend while on a date downtown at Christmastime, and they've been together even since. In June 2011, the two bought their first house on the Southside of Chicago where they live happily together today.

Exactly one year after Bob asked Nikki to be his girlfriend, he took her on an anniversary date downtown to celebrate. Their plan was to go downtown to Daley Plaza to see the big Christmas tree and go to dinner at Miller's Pub just like they had the year before. Much to Nikki's surprise, Bob had other plans in store for the evening. Throughout the train ride and walk downtown, Bob was very quiet, jittery, and would not stop texting on his phone, but Nikki was not sure why. When they finally reached the Christmas tree in Daley Plaza, Bob seemed like he was trying to keep her from seeing something behind them, which turned out to be their friends, Carly and Rob. When Nikki figured out who was there, she was definitely confused, but she was even more confused when Bob walked up to Carly and handed her his cell phone to take pictures. When Bob walked back under the tree to Nikki's side, he reached into his coat pocket and knelt down on one knee. Finally, Nikki understood what was happening and immediately tears formed in her eyes. Bob continued to tell Nikki how much he loved her, and he opened a little green box containing a beautiful diamond engagement ring. That was the moment Bob Corey asked Nicole Rodriguez to marry him, and of course, she said YES! After asking Bob a million times if he was kidding, joking, or serious, the reality set in and they shared a big hug and kiss under the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree. Also, to her surprise, when Nikki turned around to face the crowd of cheering, claping, and smiling faces, they were surrounded by their closest family and friends who Bob arranged to be there at that special moment. Needless to say, they never made it back to Miller's Pub for dinner that night, but they were able to celebrate their engagement with the people they love in the beautiful presidential suite of the Conrad Hilton, thanks to their dear friends Bob Wiley and Chessa Calabrese, along with her family.
